» Chronicle: Condolences are extended to family and friends of respected station owner, 10-year Hawaii Congressman and onetime Hawaii gubernatorial candidate Cecil Heftel, who died of natural causes Feb. 4 in San Diego. He was 85. A partnership with Scott Ginsburg included several major market stations, later acquired by Clear Channel in 1996, which led to a merger with Spanish-language Tichenor Media System into a new Heftel Broadcasting, now part of Univision.
