» Bud Diamond: Mapleton's KDRK/Spokane PM driver Jim Diamond, a.k.a. Big Cat Daddy, is moving to mornings with sister Sports KGA-AM PD Bob Castle as The Cat Morning Show. The duo replace Jay And Kevin, who defected to crosstown KEZE earlier this month (CAT 5/15). Sister Oldies KEYF-FM middayer Dawn Marcel picks up the same shift from Jamie Patrick, who slides into afternoons.

» River Of Ratings: A look at the numbers shows that CBS-TV's telecast of the George Strait: ACM Artist of the Decade All-Star Concert helped the Tiffany network win the ratings battle last night. The special's first two hours earned a 5.9 rating/10 share and 7.6/12, respectively, beating ABC's Wipeout (4.9/9) in the first hour and Fox's So You Think You Can Dance in the second (5.7/9). George and friends helped CBS capture the night overall with a 6.4/11, solidly ahead of Fox (5.2/9). CBS was No. 2 in 18-49s for the evening with a 2.1, behind Fox's 3.5.


» Calling All Jocks: It's time to shuffle through those airchecks made from June 1, 2008 to May 31, 2009 and compile a winning submission for the 2009 CMA Broadcast Awards. Broadcast Personality and Station hopefuls in Major, Large, Medium and Small markets, as well as National Personality, now have until June 25 at 5pm CT to enter here. Winners will be informed in early October and recognized at the 43rd Annual CMA Awards Nov. 11 at Nashville's Sommet Center.

» Shift Work: Beasley's Classic Country KBET-AM/Las Vegas has begun transitioning to Sports. MM Tom Humm told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that the move could take up to 60 days.

» Comin' To Your Competition: The second season judging panel of CMT's Can You Duet is Big & Rich's Big Kenny, Big Machine/Valory President/CEO Scott Borchetta, who also serves as the show's Executive Producer, and Naomi Judd. Top 20 Countdown VJ Lance Smith will host the show, which is offering the winners a record deal with Big Machine, and premieres June 20 at 8pm ET.


» Chronicle: Our deepest sympathies are extended to WFRY/Watertown, NY afternoon personality Bud "Green" Yeman on the death of his daughters Denise and Susan and unborn grandchild. They were killed in a car accident Saturday (5/23). Susan was 18 and Denise was 14. Donations in Susan's memory can be made to the Felts Mills Fire Department and the American Red Cross Buffalo, NY chapter in memory of Denise.
