» Macon Montgomery Market Madness: Cumulus/Macon, GA Market Manager John Rodriguez has taken the same role at Cumulus/Montgomery, AL's seven-station cluster, which includes Country WLWI, with today's exit of MM & Country Format Dir. Bill Jones. No word from Cumulus on the status of the format role, which Jones assumed in June 2005. In Macon, GSM Art Giles rises to MM for the eight-station cluster, which includes Country WDEN. As for Jones, he spent 13 years with the company and his prior stops included programming WGKX/Memphis, where he was also VP/Programming for Kix Broadcasting, and corporate PD for South Central Communications.


» All For The Paul: Westwood One producer Dylan Paul has been named Creative Imaging Producer for Clear Channel/St. Louis' six-station cluster, which includes Country KSD. He starts Oct. 4.




» Feed & Seed: Veteran artist manager Nancy Russell has re-launched her company as the co-op with initial clients Alan Jackson and Loretta Lynn. Russell previously managed Jackson from 2000 to 2007, renewing the association last month (Breaking News 9/14). » Heinrichs Maneuver: Capitol Nashville Marketing Coordinator Amanda Heinrichs has been promoted to Marketing Manager. Heinrichs joined the company in 2007 and can be congratulated here.


» Jurisprudence: Country Crossing developer and BamaJam Records founder Ronnie Gilley and 10 others have been indicted by a federal grand jury in Alabama following an investigation into alleged vote buying. Gilley, casino owner Milton McGregor, four Alabama state senators and several lobbyists are accused of illegally conspiring to pass legislation that would legalize electronic bingo in the state. » Home On The Range: When Google TV's devices begin rolling out this month, Country music will gain a prominent seat in the living room, as "Cookin' Country" becomes one of the eight featured channels on VEVO's new platform for the service, providing a customized catalog of music video programming available on-demand or via autoplay. Google TV also offers content from Pandora and Napster, and the brief but cool online video demo here features a Napster search for Taylor Swift.


» Throwing Christian To The Lines: Citadel's WOKQ/Portsmouth, NH got more than it bargained for when Columbia's Christian Kane tweeted he would be stopping by for a visit. Fans began showing up as early as 8am, and eventually the station parking lot was overrun with Kane-iacs. "We have a good relationship with the local police department, so I called and spoke with a shift supervisor, who was amused that we were being overrun with women, one of whom insisted she drove two hours," says OM Mark Ericson. "In all, 16 people were asked to leave the property. We also received telephone calls from Portland, OR and e-mail inquiries from Texas and the Philippines. We only lost a half-day's work in the process!"

» Chronicle: Our condolences are extended to family and friends of veteran record promoter Debbie Gibson Palmer, who passed away late Friday in Los Angeles. She was 58. A Nashville native (née Demonbreun), she was descended from the city's founder and is survived by daughter Gaylene Gibson Aparicio and grandaughter Cassidy Aparicio. A Nashville memorial service is planned for December. In lieu of flowers, contributions to assist with medical bills and other expenses can be sent to Gaylene at 5349 Newcastle Ave., #55, Encino, CA 91316.
